"If you don't take time for your health, you will definitely take time for your sickness"
My first experience with chiropractic came at the age of 13; it was summer vacation and I was just getting ready for my day when out of nowhere came this pain in my head and neck (like nothing I had experienced before.) It was like a hot piece of steel shooting through my body; I was suddenly unable to turn my head or lift my arms because of the intense pain. I did not know what was going on, and quite frankly, I was scared. After calling my mom at work she immediately took me to a local chiropractor (thanks Mom). After a thorough examination, the doctor told me I was suffering from a condition known as "torticollis" that was most likely due to an injury I received a few months prior to this episode. Within minutes of my first adjustment I felt instant relief and I felt human again. Right then I knew Chiropractic was something special.
Fast forward, years later while working in a local emergency room and seeing people come in with conditions that, with some forethought, were totally preventable, sparked a conversation with my chiropractor. I asked him why this occurred, why don't people think more about prevention. My chiropractor told me that "traditional health care, which is reactive, focuses on our symptoms, waiting until there is a problem and then trying to manage the affects (if it doesn't hurt I must be healthy.) This is what we have been taught to think. Chiropractic, on the other hand, focuses more on prevention of disease and the preservation of health; (a more proactive approach), "Little did I know that from that point on my course was set. "
After a few years of toying with different careers (and marrying my lovely wife), my heart led me back to my desire to help improve peoples lives naturally; to help them be proactive about their health so they may be happy and healthy for a lifetime, without drugs and surgery.
Now, I get to live everyday watching people's lives change for the better and seeing them live well and thrive!
I hope that we can help you maximize your health potential too!

When I was a child I used to get really bad headaches. They were debilitating even then. I would be out side playing with friends and have to come inside and lay down with a cold damp rag over my face until it would go away. My Mother took me to the family M.D., he said it was "hay fever" and there was nothing he could do. The headaches subsided some in my teens but came back with a vengeance in my 20's. I had just gotten to work and was ready to start my day when all of a sudden I lost my vision, became nauseas and had a horrible pounding headache. A co-worker helped me to the break room and called my husband. He was unable to leave work at that moment and knew his Mother was off work that day so he called her to pick me up. I thought I would just go home lay down with a cold compress and take pain killers until the pain went a way. She had another plan. She took me to their family Chiropractor.
I was annoyed, I just wanted my dark room, pain relieves and cold compress. I knew nothing about Chiropractic, I don't think I had even heard of it. In my household growing up the all mighty M.D. with his golden script pad ruled.
After completing some paper work and getting a brief exam the Chiropractor took my head and neck in his hands. I had no idea what was going to happen next. At that moment as my anxiety started to rises not knowing what was about to happen I received my first manual cervical adjustment. Before the adjustment was even completed my headache was gone. Unfortunately at that time I didn't understand how the adjustment made me better or why I was getting the headaches in the first place. But at least I knew how to quickly get rid of them instead of being out of commission for days at a time.
A few years later my husband came to me and said he wanted to go back to school to be a chiropractor. Understanding how great chiropractic was we found a way to make it happen.
Many years later my husband and I now work together at Chirosport Chiropractic. I understand the spine and the degenerative process, i.e. why I would get the headaches. And now I understand how to make the headaches go away F.O.R.E.V.E.R!!!! I have not had a headache like that since.
I can not imagine what my health would be like if not for Chiropractic. I am 49 years old, take no medication and able to work out everyday. My weight is less then when I got married.
I am blessed to help others achieve a pain free healthier life style everyday.

I started off as a patient of Dr. Joe's. Dr. Joe was the first chiropractor to explain what was happening with my body, and that is was not too late to correct the problems. Since that first visit, I have enjoyed a HEALTHIER and more active life. Dr. Joe and Lisa changed my life! When the opportunity arose to work with them, I jumped at the chance. What a truly rewarding job to be a part of a team that helps people achieve the level of health and wellness we all deserve.

I am a Colorado native, born and raised Aurora. I believe that is a life journey, blending each moment together with each one enhancing the preceding and preparing us for the next. Thus far my journey has taken me surfing in Maui, meditating in the Nevada desert and right back home to the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I have always had a passion for helping others and in 2004 I became a massage therapist. I have spent the last 5 years as liaison between chiropractors and their community. I am very excited to join the Chirosport Chiropractic family as their community coordinator. If you would like chair massages, spinal screenings, postures checks, or a health talk donated to your next health fair or event please do not hesitate to give me a call.
